How is Burlingame High School Athletics handling COVID-19? Two words-safely and efficiently. During this unpredictable time, Burlingame Athletics has taken precautions to allow their athletes to practice safely and stay in shape. Before entering the track, they require each student to have their temperature taken and answer a list of questions regarding their exposure to COVID-19. By following the 12-1, athlete-to-coach ratio, the football players are in limited contact with each other. The varsity football team, which has approximately 35 players, is separated into three groups during the 45-minute practice. Enforcing the 6ft apart rule is crucial to keeping the athletes safe, and after using the weight equipment, they sanitize the equipment down. The players and coaches understand that it takes a team effort to handle the COVID-19 restrictions.
